Grilled peaches can be more than just a great dessert. You can use these as a side dish for most anything that comes off the grill. They are particularly good with any grilled pork dish. If you want to make these peaches a little more savory, add some black pepper to the melted butter.

Yield: Serves 4


  • 4 large ripe but firm peaches, halved, seed removed
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


In a small bowl combine everything except the peaches. Mix well. Preheat grill, clean the grate well. Take an oil saturated paper towel and wipe down the cooking grates while they heat up. Place the peach halves, cut side down on the grate. Grill for about two minutes or until the peaches show good grill marks. Flip the peaches over and spoon equal portions of the butter/sugar mixture into each peach halve. Grill for another 2 minutes or until the sugar caramelizes.
